Žminj is widely known for its delicious cheese due to the award-winning Latus Diary, a family run firm located in Gorenji Orbanići. This small village houses the production and sale departments, along with a contemporary tasting room, owned by the Diary. Their wide selection of dairy products ranges from hard and semi-hard cheeses to fresh milk, yoghurts, butter, curd and cream. Recently, a new product has successfully been added to the market – Istrian mozzarella.
There are also other dairy producers in Žminj, such as family farm Galant, which produces cow’s milk cheese and curd.
